SALON DIRECTOR

With over 40 years in the hair industry, I've seen trends come and go - but one thing that's never changed is my passion for creating beautiful hair.

I started my career straight out of school & quickly fell in love with the salon energy. Since then, I have owned multiple salons, mentored countless stylists & built a career around great people.Today, my focus is leading a high-end, welcoming salon space where both clients & staff feel inspired, supported & genuinely cared for. Blonde work has become a true speciality of The Sample Room & I'm incredibly proud of the talented team we've built - each stylist bring their own flair while sharing the same commitment to quality & client experience.

My vision for the salon is simple: a space that feels warm, modern, & a little bit special. Somewhere you can relax, feel looked after, & trust you're in expert hands. At the heart of it all, I'm someone who loves people, loves creativity, and still - after all these years - love what I do.

JULIANA

SALON MANAGER | COLOUR SPECIALIST | STYLIST

Originally from Brazil, Juliana put her law course on hold when she decided to sign up for a blow-drying workshop and was so hooked, she never looked back. Her balayage work is beyond stunning and her Insta-worthy updos are always in hot demand.

A true creative, Juliana is passionate about the arts and loves helping her clients feel empowered. She also enjoys time out for great food , a glass of good pinot noir and late night dances with great friends.

JESS

COLOUR SPECIALIST | STYLIST

Jess has spent 18 years hairdressing , spending the last 2 1/2 years at The Sample Room. Jess is an all-round stylist enjoying both cutting and colouring. Creating lived-in blondes, working with fine hair to create movement and volume, and balayage work that is soft and beautifully seamless.

In Jess's free time she'll be riding her beloved horse "Spot" or walking her dog "Luna" along the beach. She's a real foodie, trying new restaurants and sitting back with a good "G & T" .

Jess brings a quirky energy to the salon that we love having around.

ZINNIA

COLOUR SPECIALIST | STYLIST

Zinnia hit the Waikato 3 years ago, joining The Sample Room. And we couldn't be happier. Zinnia brings a fun, relaxed , down to earth vibe to the salon floor. Wheather it's a hot or iced cold caramel latte in hand, she's all about a challenge - creating beautiful transformations. Zinnia enjoys working with clients to get an effortlessly blended result while keeping the hair health and integrity is paramount.

Outside the salon, you'll find her spending time with family, soaking up the sun at Waihi Beach, or hanging out with her 2 dogs and 1 very chunky cat.

STACEY

COLOUR SPECIALIST | STYLIST

Stacey has been hairdressing for 19 years, with the last 10 years with us at The Sample Room, how lucky are we. As a talented colour specialist, she finds so much passion in creating beautiful, confidence boosting hair and building genuine connections with the clients in her chair.

When Stacey is not in the salon, she's a mumma to 3 beautiful children, loves a good book in hand, heading to the beach or whipping up something tasty in the kitchen.

We're so grateful to have Stacey play an integral part of our team.

KIRSTY

COLOUR SPECIALIST | STYLIST

Having worked for her aunty in hair and make -up , Kirsty fell in love with the hairdressing industry. With 15 years experience working in Auckland Kirsty headed to the mighty Waikato to be closer to family.

Kirsty speciality is to create a unique style that "reflects you". Her work varies from short pixies to beautiful long layers. Loves all things warm with autumn tones ,soft caramel to cowboy coppers.

Kirsty loves spending time with her two gorgeous girls, baking, walks , and loves a girls night out trying local cuisine.

The most important person in the salon is always you.

Lisa has created something special at The Sample Room. By blending her twin passions of hospitality and hair styling, she ensures that you’ll enjoy a sense of occasion while having your hair treated to the very best care.
